RUNFASTER4EU
Accelerating the transition towards sustainable bio-based systems through innovative circular bioeconomy solutions.
General Objective
RUNFASTER4EU aims to prove that a sustainable and scalable bio-based value chain is possible at industrial level (TRL8). The project focuses on the large-scale cultivation of low-ILUC-risk oil crops on marginal lands that are not used for food or feed production. These crops are processed through a cascading approach to extract vegetable oils and fully valorise the remaining biomass, transforming it into a range of high-value, market-ready bio-based products.
By doing so, RUNFASTER4EU makes a strong contribution to the European bioeconomy and actively supports the EU's 2050 net-zero and bioeconomy targets.
ena's Role in RUNFASTER4EU
ena leads Work Package 8 (WP8), which covers cross-cutting activities including dissemination, communication and exploitation. The team is responsible for designing and implementing the project's outreach strategy, ensuring that results are effectively shared with target audiences, including scientific peers, industry stakeholders, and the general public.
ena also contributes to exploring new certification schemes and replicable business models for farmers and the bio-based industry. Through these actions, ena supports the visibility, uptake, and long-term impact of RUNFASTER4EU outcomes.
Impact & Results
RUNFASTER4EU is a CBE JU project focused on proving sustainable bio-based value chains at industrial scale, contributing to EU's 2050 net-zero targets.
