MARMADE

Marine biomass valorisation for food and feed innovation through circular bioeconomy approaches and stakeholder engagement across European regions.

General Objective

MARMADE aims to develop a portfolio of innovative food and feed ingredients from marine biomass that are affordable, nutritious, safe, healthy and sustainable. Through the valorisation of shrimp shells, blue crab residues, and seaweed, MARMADE supports Europe's transition toward greener food systems and reduced dependence on petrochemical-based ingredients.

ena's Role in MARMADE

In MARMADE, ENA leads Work Package 7 (Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation), ensuring that the project's outcomes are effectively communicated, widely disseminated, and strategically exploited. The team develops and implements the project's communication strategy, manages its visual identity, website, and media presence, and supports partners in promoting results to scientific, industrial, and policy audiences.

Beyond outreach, ENA is also responsible for assessing the social impacts, economic feasibility, and market potential of MARMADE's innovative processes and products, contributing valuable insights to business modelling and exploitation planning.

Impact & Results

MARMADE is a CBE JU project focused on developing sustainable marine-based food and feed ingredients, contributing to Europe's circular bioeconomy transition.
